With high quality lenses, stylish frames, personal care, and advanced diagnostic technology, we are dedicated to helping you see your best.

Why We Do What We Do

Vision is a crucial part of our every day lives. From work to play to school, it is easy to take our ability to see for granted.

But many people don't see as well as they could. An estimated 30% of children experience uncorrected vision problems. With the risk of failing a grade more than 3 times higher for school children who have visual acuity below 20/20, we take improving our patients' eye sight very seriously.

Being able to see clearly and comfortably is essential for productivity and quality of life. In the US, refractive error (not seeing clearly) costs over 16 billion dollars. With our constant use of computers, phones, and tablets, the strain on our eyes is at an all time high, making proper eye care more important than ever.

Vision Therapy (Neuro-Visual Training)

We help your eyes and brain to work together to create an efficient and highly functional vision system.

Vision Therapy (VT) is a progressive, individually tailored program of visual procedures supported by continued evidence-based research. Its primary goal is enhancing everyday life by correcting visual problems and improving fundamental visual skills and abilities, thus improving visual efficiency and comfort. How? VT works to change the way in which you process and interpret visual information.

Vision primarily takes place in the brain. Your eyes are like the doorway, merely relaying visual information to your brain. Even if you have perfect visual acuity (“20/20 vision”), it doesn’t necessarily mean that your eyes are working perfectly with the rest of your visual system. If there is dysfunction within your visual system, a variety of adverse symptoms can manifest themselves.

VT can help correct this by literally strengthening the eye-brain connection. Seeing is a neuromuscular activity, and like every muscle in your body, your eyes can be trained or retrained (in the case of strokes or serious head trauma) to work better with your brain through a series of treatments and exercises using optical devices (optical instruments, computers, lenses and prisms) under the guidance of VT professionals.

Possible symptoms: blurry vision, focusing problems, eye fatigue, headaches, double vision trouble concentrating, poor reading comprehension, skipping lines while reading, confusing small words, poor handwriting, trouble catching a ball.

Vision Therapy can be life-changing. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned, your next step should be scheduling a comprehensive eye exam and VT evaluation with one of our Optometrists at Insight Vision Care who specialize in Vision Therapy. Click here to schedule an appointment.
